About Our Quiz Night

Back in 2021 we embarked on a journey to start raising money by hosting a virtual quiz night in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. After the amazing success of this quiz night, I wanted to do something a little better which is when The Big Family Quiz 2023 was born. Come and join us for our first hybrid event taking place both in person and streamed around the world raising valuable funds to support the amazing work that Macmillan do.

The Macmillan Cancer Support charity has played a huge part in my family’s life over the past few years. With an ill grandad who benefited massively from the charity during his battle with this horrible disease. We have donated to the charity a lot recently and after the passing of my grandad nearly a year ago it’s time to do something bigger and better to support a case which is helping millions of people across the UK. 

Me and my family cannot thank Macmillan enough for the amazing work they do day in, day out for people fighting cancer and supporting their families as well.

Come and join us for The Big Family Quiz 2023 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Our hybrid quiz night is full of fun for all the family and a great way to support a charity providing vital care to help everyone with cancer!

Date: 25th March 2023
Doors Open: 6:00pm
Quiz Starts: 6:30pm
Live Music: 8pm - 9pm

how can i take part?

The Big Family Quiz 2023 will be held live at __________ and will be streamed live on our YouTube channel direct to your living room! All you'll need is a pen, an answer sheet and a device to tune in. The quiz will last around 1hr and will have a short 15 minute break half way through. The quiz will consist of a number of rounds suitable for all of the family!

There is a small cost to take part at both our in person and virtual event with all profits going directly to our JustGiving page and Macmillan Cancer Support.

meet our quizmaster

We are pleased to announce that Simon Potter will be returning to the role as our quizmaster at The Big Family Quiz 2023.

Simon first found fame as host of the Hereward Radio ‘Pick Your Poison’ quiz show in the 1980s and has hosted many other quizzes since then. Despite having written and published more than half a dozen books, he is only now working on his first quiz book.

You can sign up for the quiz here. The quiz is being hosted both online and in person. Tickets for our in person event are £2 per person with team limits being 6 people. Tickets are free for children under the age of 10. All profits from ticket sales will go directly towards the team at Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tickets for our online event are paid by donation with all donations going directly to the team at Macmillan Cancer Support.

You can donate by heading to our JustGiving page and clicking on the green ‘Give Now’ button. There is no limit to any amount that can be donated. All donations will be passed to the Macmillan team after the event to help support.

Our hybrid quiz can be viewed in two different ways. Our in person event will take place at __________ with the event being streamed around the world via our secure hosting platform to the comfort of your home.

Yes, you will be able to watch stream recording on our YouTube channel.

Yes – Refreshments will be made available on the night at our in person event. We are currently working with the venue to confirm what will be available and more information will be posted about this shortly.

No, the live music will take place directly after the closing of the quiz. There is no need to purchase a further ticket, all admission tickets will give you access to this.

We ask that all attendees purchase refreshments directly from the venue and ask that you do not bring your own to the event.

Unfortunately not. We are asking all guests to ensure they have booked tickets prior to turning up to the event. Tickets won’t be available for purchase on the door on the night.
